Rue Saint-Laud

A medieval street

Rue Saint-Laud already existed in the Middle Ages, under the name of Rue Saint-Nor. From the 16th century it took the name of Saint-Laud, before being briefly called Rue Centrale during the Revolution, then recovering its name. About 270 metres long, it preserves a few fine old facades, witnesses to its medieval past, in a district that is today pedestrian and commercial.

Beyond its nightlife, Rue Saint-Laud reveals, by looking up, fine old facades that recall its age. Pedestrian and commercial, it is one of the hearts of student and festive life in Angers, between terraces, music bars and restaurants. It is a lively stop during the walk through the centre.
