A church of the Reconstruction

The former church was entirely destroyed by the bombings, forcing the city to rebuild one on the original site from 1955. Its resolutely modern style draws on the Swiss churches of the twentieth century. Built in concrete and Logonna stone from the Roz quarry, about twenty-five kilometres from Brest, it is dedicated to Saint Louis, king of France.

The building has impressive dimensions, nearly one hundred metres long. Inside, several works of modern art match the overall style of the building. Enter the church with quiet and respect for the place of worship to appreciate its light and scale.
