The Cours Saint-Mauris

A garden in place of the ramparts

The Cours Saint-Mauris was laid out during the eighteenth century, on the site of the former ramparts of the city, removed in the seventeenth century. Designed as an English-style garden, it allowed both to air the formerly medieval city and to offer the inhabitants a natural space in which to walk. Listed as a Remarkable Garden, it is adorned with several installations that embellish it, including a fountain.
