Saint-Sauveur Church

This lovely facade belongs to Saint-Sauveur Church—the oldest building in Aubagne. That means it's packed with history, since the very first church on this site dates back to the 11th century. Back then, it was much smaller, and it wasn't until the 13th century that it became known as Saint-Sauveur. The church was expanded for the first time in the 14th century, with the addition of several chapels, and again in the 17th century, when it was also furnished and decorated with an organ, carved woodwork, and paintings. Its current facade dates from 1900 and features a graceful neo-Baroque style. Step inside and you’ll discover some remarkable treasures, like the Virgin and Child sculpted by Pierre Puget, and the stunning organ built by André Eustache in 1665, now officially listed as a Historic Monument since 1979.
