Stanguy Promenade

You’ve reached the end of Quai Franklin, but if you’d like to keep the walk going a little longer, the Stanguy Promenade begins right here and follows the river past boats, greenery, and the distinctive scenery of the ria. If you’re not familiar with the term “ria,” it refers to a former river valley that has been flooded by the sea. That’s what creates this deeply indented landscape of winding waterways, mudflats, and small islands, all shaped by the rise and fall of the tides.

If you still have some energy left, you can continue along the coastal path toward Le Bono, a charming little port a few kilometers, or a couple of miles, from Auray.
