You’re now in front of the Terraqué Cultural Center, Carnac’s main cultural venue. Opened in 2010, it includes a multimedia library, an exhibition space, a music school, and an auditorium. But do you know what its rather unusual name means?

“Terraqué” means “made up of land and water.” It’s also the title of a poetry collection by Guillevic, the famous poet born in Carnac. It’s a particularly fitting name for a town shaped by both the moorland and the ocean. Poetry lovers can explore Guillevic’s spare, distinctive world, filled with stones, water, and Breton landscapes.

And if you’re looking for something cultural to do during your stay, take a look at the program. Concerts, performances, exhibitions, and talks are held here regularly.
