The Beach Huts

Back then, families would come for several weeks at a time, and these huts served as private changing rooms, shielding bathers from prying eyes before they headed into the water. Some were even on wheels, rolling right down onto the sand! Today, they stay put, but they still brighten the beach with their soft or vibrant hues, from lavender blue to sunny yellow. Rented by the season, they’re the perfect place to stash children’s toys, sun loungers, or an afternoon picnic. But they’re more than just practical, they embody a simple, joyful seaside way of life. Many families return year after year to rent the very same hut, like reclaiming their own little corner of summer. Just above, along the promenade, the waterfront clock quietly keeps watch over this gentle rhythm. Discreet yet unmistakable, it marks the time for strollers, swimmers… and kite flyers, who glance at it without any real concern. Because here, between pastel cabins and salty sea air, it’s easy to forget about your watch altogether.
