A work born of a citizen mobilisation

A work by the artist Annick Leroy, The Diver was installed in 2016 as part of the event "Mont-de-Marsan Sculptures", which regularly enriches the city with contemporary works. The statue represents a diver caught in her impulse, as if ready to cleave the waters of the Midouze. Its funding rested on a participatory subscription, which made it possible to gather a sum close to thirty thousand euros: a fine example of citizen mobilisation around public art and the embellishment of the banks.
