The green line, guiding thread of Nantes

The Nantes audio-guided tour has you follow for a moment the green line, this route painted on the ground that you have probably already come across. The municipality designed it to guide visitors through the city, to encounter its heritage, both old and contemporary.

Twelve kilometres across the city

About twelve kilometres long, the green line runs through the smallest corners of Nantes and links sixty-seven historic places and artworks. This permanent route is supplemented each year, generally from July to September, by the Voyage à Nantes event, which adds many temporary installations. You should allow at least two days, and ideally three, to make the most of all the discoveries it holds.

What there is to see

You simply follow the line painted on the ground to pass from a monument to an artwork, from the medieval districts to the contemporary installations. This guiding thread, both practical and playful, does away with the need for a map and turns the visit into a trail-game. It is the best way to discover Nantes on foot, without missing any of its heritage and artistic gems.

Practical information

The green line crosses Nantes from end to end, over about twelve kilometres, from the city centre. The route, painted on the ground, can be followed freely on foot at all hours. The Voyage à Nantes event, generally from July to September, enriches the route with temporary installations; some sites along the route charge admission.
