The Pont des Arts

The Pont des Arts appears quite a few times during the series as Emily often crosses this bridge that connects her home, in the 5th arrondissement, to her workplace, in the 2nd arrondissement. This spot has a romantic reputation, as thousands of love locks were once attached to the railings by couples declaring their affection for each other. Unfortunately, due to the padlocks’ weight, local authorities feared that the fence would collapse, so it was removed in 2014 to avoid further damage. Anyway, you might recognise this bridge because Emily and Gabriel have already kissed here before! There are many other scenes where you’ll see this bridge for a brief moment, as symbolic Parisian spots are often filmed between two shots. On your left, a few bridges away, you’ll find the Pont Alexandre III. It appeared on one of the first episodes, where an ad for the new perfume De l’Heure was filmed.
