Established by the Gallo-Romans as their decumanus maximus, this is one of the oldest streets in Reims. You may want to know what a decumanus maximus is.It refers to the main east-west oriented road or street in a Roman city grid. It crosses at right angles to the cardo maximus, which crosses the city from north to south. The forum, the economic heart of the city, was often found at this junction. Today, both sides of the street are home to a large number of brand names, housed in shops surmounted by buildings inspired, in some cases, by Art Deco. This is the perfect place to spoil yourself!
