View from the Esplanade

This lovely viewpoint offers a beautiful panorama of Menton, with the mountains rising just behind the town. From here, you can see the pebble beach stretching along this part of the coast—a favourite spot for an evening walk, with the gentle sound of the waves in the background. Just behind you, at the centre of the esplanade, stands a statue of Ulysses, the legendary hero from Greek mythology. The sculpture is the work of Anna Chromy, a Czech artist who spent many years living and working in France and Italy. Known for her pieces inspired by mythology and spirituality, her work can be found in cities all across Europe, and she’s received several international awards.
