Palazzo Città Square

You’re standing in front of the Palazzo Città, built in the 18th century and now serving as Turin’s city hall. But this square has been the political heart of the city for much longer. Turin’s public administration has been based here since 1472. What really draws the eye is the dramatic bronze statue of a knight, standing tall and triumphant over his defeated enemies. This is Amadeus VI of Savoy, known as the Green Count, shown victorious during the Eastern wars of the 14th century.
