You're now standing on Luxembourg's most popular square, nicknamed the ‘Salon de la Ville’. The Armes Square is most certainly Luxembourg's most pleasant square, with its cafés and restaurants. An Armes Square is a place where troops assemble and a space used to host military events. This square has kept its name from the time of Louis XIV's soldiers. They were the ones who planted the lime trees and paved the ground. Nowadays, the square is used as a congress and exhibition centre, as well as a venue for public concerts and the Christmas market. It's the perfect place to stop for a coffee.
