Mention of a hospice in the Grund appears as early as the fourteenth century. Renovated in the 1980s, this old district has become one of the most sought-after in the capital. With Clausen and Pfaffenthal, it forms the lower town of Luxembourg, where three villages had settled over time, along the Alzette, at the foot of the ramparts.

From the belvedere, the eye plunges over the rooftops of the Grund, the Alzette and the old fortifications. It is one of the finest panoramas in the city, perfect for a souvenir photo. The view makes you want to go down and explore this picturesque district, reachable on foot or by lift from the upper town.
