Beurs Van Berlage

141 meters long, this building is one of the most impressive in Amsterdam: the Beurs van Berlage. Contrary to other buildings in the city, this one offers a new aesthetic with its red bricks and large size. It came into existence thanks to Hendrik Petrus Berlage, a Dutch unknown architect at the time. Designing this building will later make him world-famous. Built between 1898 and 1903, the building reflects a simple and pure style, with its structure made of brick, steel, and glass, yet completely new at the time. It only has a simple clock and three sculptures on each corner, representing three men who have permanently marked the city. Today, it is home to both the Beurs van Berlage Museum and the Dutch Philharmonic Orchestra.
