Auckland's Town Hall is an example of Edwardian architecture, and stands proudly along Aotea Square. Inaugurated in 1911, it was one of the city's most elegant buildings at the time. As a town hall, it served as Auckland’s first administrative headquarters, but also functioned as the city's first concert hall, with a theater that can accommodate up to 1,673 people. Its immense and powerful organ further highlights its grandeur. Restored in the 1990s, it is now a treasured part of the city's historical and cultural heritage. Not only is it one of Auckland’s most beautiful monuments, but it also has many modern facilities inside.
