Information Point

Muscat is a vast, spread-out city, and what you’ve seen so far is only one part of it. On this side lies Old Muscat, with the royal palace, the forts and several museums gathered around the bay. About two kilometres away, on the other side, is another key area of the city.

The road linking these two zones runs along the coastline, where you’ll still find a few points of interest, traces of Muscat’s past, Riyam Park and its large, iconic monument, but the main sights are clearly concentrated in these two separate hubs. The choice is yours: you can walk the full distance if you feel up to it, or this may be a good moment to head back to your car or choose another way of getting around to reach the other part of the city.
