The palace of Archbishop Batthyány

The Primate's Palace was built from 1778 to 1781 for Archbishop József Batthyány, in an elegant neoclassical style recognisable by its pale pink façade. In 1805, it was the setting of a major historic event: the signing of the Peace of Pressburg, after the Battle of Austerlitz. The palace keeps a famous Hall of Mirrors and precious tapestries, witnesses of its rich past.
