The majestic building in front of you is the Slovak National Theatre, home to a performance hall that hosts plays, ballets, and operas from September through June. A true cultural hub in Slovakia, this theatre impresses with its grand façade and elegant architecture dating back to 1886. While a more modern theatre was built in 2007, this one remains the most historic and beloved. Standing proudly at the end of one of the city’s main squares, it’s hard to walk by without stopping to admire its stunning Renaissance-style exterior.
