Located inside the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian, this Madame Tussauds museum opened in 1999 and was the very first Madame Tussauds established in the United States, marking the arrival of the famous institution that originally began in London in the 19th century. Unlike traditional museums, the wax figures here are not meant to be viewed from a distance but approached, touched, and photographed. Visitors can pose alongside celebrities from film, music, and sports, as well as iconic figures who helped shape the history of Las Vegas, including Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra. Each statue requires several months of work, with hundreds of measurements and photographs used to reproduce as accurately as possible the features, expressions, and even the posture of the personalities represented. Some celebrities even work directly with the museum’s teams when choosing the clothing or the setting for their figure. The exhibition also includes immersive experiences, such as a 4D film set in the Marvel universe and themed areas inspired by the speakeasies of the 1920s.
