National Museum of African American History and Culture

In front of you stands the National Museum of African American History and Culture. This museum is divided into three sections: slavery, segregation, and contributions to culture, sports, and arts. You can also find information on the Civil Rights Movement, which took place in the 1950s as African Americans fought to end segregation and get the same rights as other citizens. More than 40,000 artifacts related to African American history are kept in this museum. It opened to the public in 2016, with the aim of telling the story of a historically discriminated community. It also serves as a tribute to the activists who dismantled racial laws, including Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks. I strongly recommend this interesting museum, where you’ll discover a large part of American history with videos, historical objects, and exhibitions. Plus, admission is free!
