The Forum Shops

You are now standing in front of The Forum Shops at Caesars, one of the most famous shopping destinations in Las Vegas. As the name suggests, it is part of the vast Caesars Palace complex, which begins here and stretches for several hundred meters. The Forum Shops opened in 1992 and are designed with an ancient Roman atmosphere that extends all the way up to the ceiling. Before this shopping center was built, the site hosted the Caesars Palace Grand Prix in the early 80s, a temporary racing circuit set up just behind the hotel. IndyCar races were held here on a track that ran across the Caesars Palace parking lot. The event never really became the success that organizers had hoped for, either with the public or with the drivers, who often criticized the circuit for being repetitive and not very exciting. After only two editions, the races were discontinued and the site remained underused for several years, until the idea of building a themed shopping mall appeared in the late 80s. This center was one of the first places to prove that in Las Vegas, shopping itself could become a form of entertainment: marble everywhere, statues, fountains, and especially the painted “sky” above your head that slowly shifts from bright blue to a star-filled night, creating the illusion that you are walking outdoors. Inside, you will also notice a few unusual details, including spiral escalators that are extremely rare in the United States, and a fountain that turns into a full attraction. The Atlantis show combines animatronics, fire, water, and an aquarium, with technicians literally working beneath the stage to keep the entire show running smoothly. With its luxury boutiques, well-known restaurants, and décor that feels almost like an adult theme park, the Forum Shops remain an essential stop if you want to see what shopping looks like in the Caesars style: grand, theatrical, and spectacular.
