The historic commercial heart of Tirana

Since the early seventeenth century, this area has been the merchant heart of the city. In Ottoman times, the old bazaar stretched as far as today's Skanderbeg Square and made Tirana an important regional commercial crossroads. The Pazari i Ri carries on this tradition, a few hundred metres from the great square, in a pedestrian quarter now redeveloped and very busy.

The food hall hosts traders during the day, generally in the morning and early afternoon; as hours may vary, it is best to go early to enjoy the bustle.
