It was at number 9 of the Getreidegasse that the Mozart family settled in 1747. Nearly ten years later, in 1756, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born there, on the third floor of this house with façades of a bright yellow. The composer lived there for a few years of his childhood before the family established itself elsewhere. The place, become a museum, keeps the memory of the early years of the musical genius and is among the most visited sites of the city.
