From a post office to a place of life

Built for the Universal Exhibition of 1913, the former post office building once served as the terminus for the first horse-drawn trams and the postilions. Its architecture mixes Neo-Gothic and Neo-Renaissance, in a remarkable state of conservation. When its postal functions ended in 2001, the site was entirely renovated with respect for its industrial character, to host the shopping centre "De Post" and the luxury hotel "1898 The Post". Located at the crossroads of the access routes of the city in its early days and a veritable attraction of the Korenmarkt today, the building has always been bathed in a certain effervescence.
