The CN Tower, symbol of Toronto and Canada

The Toronto audio-guided tour brings you to the foot of the CN Tower, an essential part of the city's skyline and one of the most recognised symbols of Canada. At 553 metres, it dominates downtown and can be seen from far away.

An answer to a technical problem

Before gaining all its fame, this masterpiece of engineering had above all a practical purpose. After the first skyscrapers rose in the 1960s and 1970s, reception problems appeared for residents. To answer them, this broadcasting tower was inaugurated in 1976. The land on which it stands was reclaimed from Lake Ontario, in an area undergoing deep transformation.

What there is to see

The CN Tower offers observation decks with an exceptional panorama over the city and Lake Ontario. The most daring will enjoy the glass floor, which gives the impression of floating above the void. By day and by night, when it lights up, the tower remains the emblematic image of Toronto, a must of any visit.
