The Drop is a steel sculpture in the shape of a raindrop, designed by a group of German artists. Installed near the convention centre, on the waterfront, it plays humorously on the rainy reputation of Vancouver, nicknamed Raincouver. Monumental and blue, it has become a landmark of the waterside and one of the most photographed public artworks in the city.

What to see

The sculpture, immense and tilted, surprises by its shape of a drop about to fall, facing Burrard Inlet. People come to observe it as a touch of humour about the city's climate, in a setting offering fine views of the water and the mountains. It is a light and photogenic stop on the waterfront, a stone's throw from Canada Place.

Practical information

The Drop lies along the harbour, near the Vancouver convention centre, on the waterfront, reachable on foot and by public transport. It is an open-air work, freely visible at all times, with no ticket office. On the level, it is discovered during a walk along the water, near Canada Place and the Digital Orca.
