The civic heart of Split

The most emblematic building is the former town hall, built in the fifteenth century in a Venetian Gothic style typical of the Dalmatian coast; it today hosts exhibitions. On the right stands the former municipal tower, whose base integrates reused Roman vestiges, topped by a rare twenty-four-figure clock inherited from the sixteenth century. All around, the façades mix Renaissance, Baroque and other styles.
