From bowling to cinema

On the corner of Calle O, the place has existed since 1955, but it did not then house a cinema: people came to play bowling there, at "Boleras Tony". Enlarged and raised, the establishment became successively cafeteria, bar, offices, then cinema. And not just any cinema: La Rampa houses the archives of Cuban cinema and previews the films promised to the other halls of the country. Its quality of sound and projection, become digital in 2015, makes it one of the best addresses of the district.

What there is to see

The La Rampa cinema offers retrospectives and hosts various festivals throughout the year, including the festival of Latin American Cinema, organised in December. With its famous sign and its role as guardian of the archives of Cuban cinema, it is a cultural institution of the Vedado, to be discovered during a screening or by passing in front of its emblematic sign.
