A brasserie born in 1911

The Excelsior was launched in 1911 on the initiative of Louis Moreau, a brewer from Vézelise. Designed at the peak of Art Nouveau and the School of Nancy, it brings together the talent of the greatest artists of the time: ironwork by Louis Majorelle, glasswork by Daum, refined woodwork and stuccoes. Listed as a historic monument, it illustrates the art of living of the Nancy Belle Époque.

What there is to see

Inside, the hall unfolds its glass-paste chandeliers, its floral sconces, its woodwork and its stuccoes, in a perfectly preserved Art Nouveau decor. The brasserie perpetuates the tradition of the great houses, with its service and its cuisine. Whether you sit down or simply admire its façade, it is a dazzling witness to 1900 Nancy.
