Neuhauser Street

This lively street is the largest pedestrian zone in Munich’s old town, and one of the city’s most vibrant thoroughfares. As you pass through Karlstor Gate, you’ll step into this lively stretch, lined with shops housed in elegant Baroque-style buildings. There are countless cafés and restaurants, along with several beautiful churches that are well worth exploring. Dating back to the 14th century, Neuhauser Street has long been a favourite meeting point for Munich locals. It leads straight to the city’s main square, Marienplatz. On your left, you’ll spot the distinct light red façade of the Bürgersaal Church, built in Baroque style. A bit further along, you'll see St. Michael’s Church, the largest and first Renaissance church north of the Alps. I highly recommend stepping inside these churches to admire their stunning interiors. For now, it’s time to enjoy a shopping spree along one of Munich’s most iconic streets!
