Palace of Justice

This is without doubt one of the most imposing buildings in the Bavarian capital. Built at the end of the 19th century in a neo-Baroque style, it now houses the Bavarian Ministry of Justice. One of its magnificent halls is a site of remembrance, as it was here that members of the White Rose, the famous German resistance group that spoke out against the Nazi regime, were sentenced to death for their acts of defiance. Topped with a glass dome at its centre, Munich’s Palace of Justice is a striking monument that stands proudly across from Karlsplatz.
