Plaka is easily the most famous neighbourhood in Athens, and therefore the busiest. It is the historic heart of the Greek capital, and it's located at the foot of the Acropolis. It really has it all – a vibrant atmosphere, quaint taverns and cafés, little cobblestone alleys and a rather rich past. It's the oldest district of Athens and it was of great importance back in Ottoman times, as the Turkish Governor had settled here. This little neighborhood is so picturesque and charming, it's hard not to love it! It's brimming with character and buzzing with life all day and night!
