History

Almost, for during its realisation, it was a subject of discord between the mayor of the time, who vaunted its merits, and the population, who saw only the heavy demolitions that it imposed. At the term of compromises, the Via XX Settembre finally came into being between the piazza della Vittoria and the piazza De Ferrari. Until the 1980s, the number of cinemas and theatres that populated it was such that it was known nationally as the "street of cinemas". Today, locals and visitors walk its sidewalks to heat up their credit card in the great shopping brands, under its elegant arcades.
