The National Library

What’s more, it’s a goldmine for history lovers. Among its rarest treasures is the 1530 charter in which Emperor Charles V officially grants Malta to the Knights of the Order of St John. This document marked the start of their 250-year rule over the island. Safe to say, the bar for historical records is set pretty high!
