View from the minaret

This is the ideal spot for an overview of the Koutoubia Mosque and, above all, its 69-metre-high minaret, 77 metres if its spire is included. Built much later than the rest of the mosque, this minaret served as a model for the design of the Giralda minaret in Seville, a former Almohad mosque. As the highest building in the city, it helps the thousands of tourists who visit Marrakech to find their way around the narrow streets of the Medina.
