Welcome to Engenheiro Duarte Pacheco Square, a popular gathering spot and the largest square in Albufeira! Locals often meet here before heading out to enjoy the town’s nightlife. It’s a charming esplanade framed by white houses with colourful trims, and shaded by trees at its centre. The building in front of you is an art gallery dedicated to Samora Barros, a prominent 20th-century Portuguese painter. This space was a power station back in 1926, and was transformed into a museum and gallery in 1988—much to the delight of art lovers. Take your time to wander around the square, explore the nearby bars, restaurants, shops, and soak up the Portuguese atmosphere!
