Stari Trg

Welcome to Stari Trg, literally “Old Street,” one of the oldest streets in Ljubljana. It’s been known as a commercial street since the 13th century, when merchants bustled through with their carts, vendors shouted their products, and stalls lined the way, already the beating heart of the town. The atmosphere is different today, but the spirit remains the same. Paved with cobblestones, narrow facades, wooden shopfronts—everything here evokes the charm of an old market town. In summer, café and restaurant terraces spill out across the street, filling it with a lively, welcoming buzz, while galleries and independent boutiques bring a touch of style. Take your time to wander, step through a doorway, and peek into a courtyard: Stari Trg has a way of surprising you when you least expect it.
