Viewpoint over the National Folk Museum of Korea
The Seoul audio-guided tour offers you here a fine panorama over the western part of the city, overlooked by the mountains of Bukhansan National Park. From here, you can see the typically Korean roofs of the National Folk Museum of Korea, located within the grounds of Gyeongbok Palace.
A museum of Korean daily life
The National Folk Museum of Korea traces the daily life of Koreans, from prehistory to today. It reveals vestiges of the past, tools, clothing and reconstructions that show the houses, traditions and customs of the inhabitants over the centuries. Created in 1945, it has only occupied its present location, a stone's throw from the traditional village of Bukchon, since 1993. It is one of the most remarkable buildings with superposed roofs in Seoul.
What there is to see
From this viewpoint, the gaze takes in the Korean roofs of the museum, the city to the west and, in the background, the reliefs of Bukhansan National Park. The museum itself offers a complete immersion in Korean traditions, with exhibitions on the great stages of life, from birth to mourning. An ideal visit to understand the culture of the country.
