City Hall

The Town Hall

The Ronda audio-guided tour presents you with the Town Hall, recognisable by its long façade and its rows of superimposed arcades, on one of the finest squares of the old town.

The great drawing room of Ronda

The square on which the Town Hall stands has always been the great drawing room of Ronda, a place of meeting, celebration and market from Roman times to the processions of today. With its long façade and its superimposed arcades, the building has the appearance of a majestic but welcoming building. It has not, however, always been peaceful: before housing the mayor's offices, it served as a barracks and even a prison. Today, its wrought-iron balconies and the shadows of its arches soften its solid appearance. One does not visit its administrative rooms, but the basement, open to the public, hides a vaulted room with Mudéjar decor, become a cafeteria.

What there is to see

The Town Hall charms with its arcaded façade and its fine shaded square, surrounded by convents, the church of Santa María and benches under the trees. It is one of the most peaceful places of the old town, ideal for a break. Its vaulted basement with Mudéjar decor offers a cool and unusual stop in the heart of Ronda.
