Terraces suspended above the gorges

The name of these gardens pays tribute to the city of Cuenca, twinned with Ronda since the 1970s and also famous for its houses suspended at the edge of vertiginous gorges. In tiered terraces along the rocky wall, connected by stairs and small paved paths, the gardens wind around flowered beds, cypresses, oleanders, olive trees and citrus trees, creating a slightly cooler microclimate. At each level, stone and wrought-iron railings open new views over the Tajo gorges, the río Guadalevín and above all the Puente Nuevo, of which it is one of the finest lateral viewpoints: one understands there how much the bridge merges into the cliff.
