This name came from the fact that the vegetation there was so sparse that the Gaditans joked saying that only parsley grew there. At the end of the nineteenth century, the place was completely transformed into an elegant park, filled with exotic trees, shaded paths and small romantic spaces. By strolling, you will discover an incredible variety of plants come from all over the world, from cypresses trimmed to perfection to tropical palm trees, by way of great majestic ficus trees. Do not miss above all La Gruta, the small waterfall with its lake and its ducks: it is one of the most photographed corners of the park. And to add a touch of mystery, know that a former fountain sculpted by Mariano Benlliure, adorned with mischievous children, totally disappeared in circumstances that have remained obscure.
