Mirador de María Auxiliadora

The small Plaza de María Auxiliadora opens up before you, a peaceful viewpoint perched on the edge of the El Tajo gorge and one of the most pleasant, easily reached lookouts in Ronda’s old town. From the balustrade, your eyes wander across green valleys, terraced hillsides and the Serranía mountains, while the sheer canyon walls drop away beneath the city. This mirador is also the natural starting point for the best walks into the gorge: a paved path leads down from here toward the classic viewpoints of the Puente Nuevo, including the famous postcard angle and the old Arab arch that frames the bridge in one of its most recognisable views. It’s an ideal spot to pause in the quiet, enjoy the changing Andalusian light or begin the descent toward Ronda’s most spectacular panoramas just below the bridge.
