The Archbishop’s Palace

As you make your way around Valencia’s cathedral, you’ll come across the Archbishop’s Palace, with a distinct red brick façade. This building dates back to the 13th century and has undergone several transformations. Originally built in Romanesque and Gothic styles, it was later transformed with Baroque features in the 18th century. It was redesigned again in the 20th century by architect Vicente Traver Tomás. Take a moment to admire its elegant moulded balconies and finely detailed stonework. This is the official residence of the Archbishop and houses the administrative offices of the Archdiocese. As such, it’s not open to the public.
