An Atlantic archipelago

Located about a hundred kilometres west of the Moroccan coast, the Canary Islands form an archipelago of seven islands belonging to Spain. They make up one of the seventeen autonomous communities of Spain. There you find Gran Canaria, where Las Palmas is located, Tenerife, the largest and most populated, Lanzarote with its volcanic landscapes, Fuerteventura, the closest to the continent, as well as La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro.

Nicknamed the islands of eternal spring for their mild climate all year round, the Canaries offer a great variety of landscapes, from beaches to volcanoes and laurel forests. Las Palmas, on Gran Canaria, is the largest city and one of the two capitals of the autonomous community, along with Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
