View from Plaza de la Constitución

The square you’re standing in is dedicated to the Spanish Constitution of 1812, though most locals simply call it Kiosk Square, named after the beautiful neo-Mudéjar-style kiosk at its centre. Built in the early 20th century, the kiosk was designed to host concerts and public performances right here in the square. Its architecture follows the traditional Mudéjar style — a distinctly Spanish blend created by Muslim craftsmen who remained in Andalusia after the Catholic Reconquest. From this spot, you get two classic views of La Orotava: on one side, a colourful scene with the Church of San Agustín, the kiosk, and the Liceo Taoro; on the other, sweeping views of the sea and the charming rooftops of traditional Canarian houses.
