To round off your visit to Geneva, I recommend crossing the Bergues Bridge and stopping at the little Rousseau Island for a wonderful view of the city. Then continue to the Bains des Pâquis, located between Quai du Mont-Blanc and Quai Wilson, where you’ll find lake swimming areas, saunas, and hammams—everything you need for a relaxing break. If you’re looking for a breath of nature, head to Parc de la Grange, Geneva’s largest and most beautiful park, which is also a listed Historical Monument. Another unmissable landmark is Mount Salève, considered the second symbol of the city after the lake. Just a few kilometers from Geneva, it’s the perfect place for a hike through chestnut and Scots pine forests, with a spectacular panoramic view waiting at the top. About thirty kilometers away lies Nyon, a charming town ideal for a day trip. With its castle overlooking the lake, Roman ruins, and stunning views over the water and surrounding vineyards, it’s full of character. If you continue along the Swiss lakeshore, make a stop in Morges—a small town with a historic center, a lakeside promenade, a castle, and delicious local cuisine. Staying near Morges puts you at the gateway to the Jura Vaudois Regional Park, a wonderful outdoor destination, both in summer and winter, with endless opportunities for hiking, biking, snowshoeing, or simply enjoying the open landscapes. Should you have a few extra days, consider heading to Lausanne, a vibrant and elegant city, and then on to the breathtaking Lavaux Terraces—UNESCO-listed vineyards that cascade down to the lake. On the French side of the lake, explore the southern shore and visit Yvoire, one of the most beautiful medieval villages in France. With its cobbled streets, well-preserved 13th-century castle, and undeniable charm, it’s like stepping back in time. Further along the lake, take a trip to Evian-les-Bains, a picturesque spa town famous for its Belle Époque architecture, thermal baths, lakeside promenades, casino, and of course, its renowned mineral water. If you're up for a slightly longer outing, the beautiful city of Annecy is only a 45-minute drive from Geneva. Known for its cobblestone streets, romantic canals, colorful houses, and its sparkling lake, it’s a must-see. Finally, for a true adventure, plan a visit to Fort l’Ecluse, an impressive fortress built into the mountainside. A tour through its historic corridors also rewards you with a breathtaking view over the entire region.
