This led to the construction of new places of worship for a variety of faiths, including the Catholic church of Notre-Dame, the Anglican church, the synagogue, and this magnificent Russian church. Completed in 1866, it was built for the city’s Orthodox community and quickly became a symbol of Geneva’s cultural diversity.
