Red Bridge Viewpoint
From here, you get a great view of Hoan Kiem Lake and the bright red bridge that leads to Ngoc Son Temple. Slim and gently curved, The Huc Bridge draws a bright red arc across the green of the lake and the surrounding trees. The bright red color isn’t just for show — in Vietnamese culture, it’s a symbol of luck, vitality, and prosperity. The bridge was built in the nineteenth century, during the Nguyen dynasty, to link the lakeshore to the temple. Depending on the time of day, it reflects softly on the water or catches the light, naturally drawing your eye. This is one of the most recognizable views in Hanoi, quiet and rich in symbolism.
